"Research for the think-tank IPPR Scotland found 80 per cent of people believed cutting their number of days at work – with no loss of pay – would benefit their wellbeing."

What I want to kow is who are the 20% of people who don't want to work a day a week less for the same cash?

The other 20% are either in a shocking marriage or having an affair at work. No other possible explanation.

Does Pher Klan live in Scotland?

He seems to believe that if you don’t work every single hour God sends then you’re a failure…

Those who are aware that they'll still be expected to get the same amount done in less time (bye bye PH!)

The 20% are already working 12-14 hour days or are overloaded and know they'd be asked to fit the 5th days work into the 4.

I used to enjoy my work. I felt I was doing something important.

I used to enjoy my time at home, with my wife and kids.

Then I got two large-engined motorbikes, and I enjoyed my rides to and from work.

It didn't last forever, but certainly a lot more than 20% of the time. Without giving it a lot of thought, I'd say over 50%.

Since I retired, I've taken up another job, and I enjoy that as well.

I think the real wierdos are those who do a job they don't enjoy or actually dislike.

As someone with a passion for writing you might be interested to note the correct spelling of weirdo, as in the post you quoted.

Regarding your previous work you might also be interested to know that there are a few people asking about you/it on the Scottish cloned car thread & looking forward to your renewed participation in the discussions. I look forward to hearing your future comments there.

What a strange thing to say and a sad inditement.

I did not always enjoy the stress but the buzz of working with great people and satisfaction of seeing a successful result made my chosen career pretty awesome.

Seeing trainees develop and move up through the organisation was rewarding in itself.

Perhaps you should consider retraining or look elsewhere.

If that were the case wouldn't you just pretend you were still working five days and spend the spare day out of the house doing bloke stuff, seeing the bit on the side, etc?

I like my job when I win. Not so much when I lose. BUT I would happily reduce my time by 50% to spend it with my kids.

Once people start suggesting I posted something I did not, and then turning the argument that way, I tend to give up.
