On doing a fluid level check on the beast recently, I noticed that two or three of the purple induction pipes were in bad shape. Various wires, which I believe help the pipes to keep their shape have pierced through the bodies and there are (small) holes.

How important is this? Am I jeopardising the car?

Is it time for some carbon fibre!? :D

Looks aren't everything! , but Craigs engine bay does look very nice I would go for the ones offering the most benefit to the engine though.

well if it's a standard engine then you need to keep the airflow as std .. so that narrows your choice down to these original length version or the OE purple versions.

Don't think about fitting the shorter pipes to a std engine, so you'd need to budget about an extra 1k gbp for remapping. They claim 40 odd bhp extra from the short pipes so you'd be running *very* weak with that much extra airflow .. enough to blow holes in your pistons at worst, or just keep melting spark plugs at best.

Absolutely right, lets not make PH a useful place to be with lively informative debate about engine upgrades. Much better that we start a really interesting topic like errrrr oh yes here we go

Beige ones are fastest. Yawn!!!!

Hey Gazzab, didn't know you were a moderator now, congrats on the promotion. lol.

even more reason not to go with shorter lengths then dean as the RR version has better fuelling than the std car which is over-rich in many places. You would defo toast that engine with a conversion ..

just trying to be provocative.
I fancy the ACT shorter ones and a remap.
The Carbon ones look great though.

They look drop dead gorgeous, but the blue silicone bits look a bit out of place. What are they for - they don't appear to be clamped?

I suspect it was mocked up initially for the pics .. agree that smaller black silicone ends would be far neater, but on a blue car they would be a nice touch, just need trimming down a bit

So you all got distracted by the carbon, and didn't tell me whether small holes in the pipes are important!

Are they?

small holes are less important than big holes.

given the usual cerbera habit for disintegrating airboxes i suspect a few small holes aren't a big deal though ..

but just look at that carbon, yummy
