Hi,

I need to remove my wheel arch surround on my Mk8 Civic so I can remove the front bumper, but it appears the previous owner used some sort of adhesive/bonding to keep the wheel arch in place rather than source new clips.

Does anyone know what type of bonding this might be, and am I likely to have great in removing it?

Thanks.

Could be Tigerseal which is a nightmare.
Maybe try a paint scraper or similar if you can get it in there without damaging paint.
Once you have an edge started it gets a bit easier.

A new snap-off knife can be good as you can slide it into the gap and cut the bond.

If you can get 'around an end' use dental floss to carve through it!

Thanks all - as I thought… just elbow grease. I got some second hand wheel arch protectors as I suspect the originals might be beyond salvage.
