Make the rich pay! (but not me)

Meet Hasan Piker
He HATEs the rich

He has built a massive online following where he can broadcast how much he hates the rich
He thinks they should be forced to pay
He hates them living in their big mansions
You all know whats coming next
Of course owning a $2.7m mansion isn't rich

I don't know who the guy is, but just because he thinks the rich should pay more, doesn't mean he can't be rich as well and buy a nice house.
Now if the article was about him being in some sort of tax avoidance scheme I think you would have something to moan about.
As it is, its a non story.

So what you're saying is he must have spent all his money on the house which is why he can't afford any trousers that are long enough?
Genuinly don't understand that new "fashion" trend. Why do people want to look like you did on the last week of school before summer when your mum won't buy new trousers until end of summer so you've to walk around pushing them down to atleast look like they half fit... hotchy said:

I'd assumed the story was going to say he was using some dubious accounting to hide his income, it's not really hypocrisy if he pays what he owes and is prepared to pay what I assume would be a lot more if he got his own way.
That said he looks like what my mates and I would call 'a reyt t
t'.
That said he looks like what my mates and I would call 'a reyt t
t'. It's amused me for a while how this (apparent) internal dialogue's gone on the minds of the commentariat and hence in the headlines;
"The top 10% should pay more tax!"
[Oh, hang on, that's us and we're not rich]
"The top 5% should pay more tax!"
[Oh, hang on, that's still us and we're still not rich]
"The top 1% should pay more tax!"
[Oh, hang on, we know some of them and they seem like nice people]
"The top 0.1% should pay more tax!"
[That's fine, we don't know any of them, they must be b@st@rds.]

I can see why the Guardian columnist wants this to be considered a non story, but it sums up the hypocracy of champagne socialists pretty well.
Imo disavowing capitalism and wealth generation is fundamentally incompatible with allowing the rewards of his labour to accrue only to him.
The boss at my place has his own wealth, so doesn't take his public sector pension and instead gives it to charity. Far more powerful example I think.
