I only have Freeview, or as my son calls it... for us ‘peasants’ or ‘peasants TV’.
But, among its many obscure channels, there are many interesting
programmes & films.
I thought that on here, we could discuss what we have watched or
heads up on future programmes that may be of interest.
Accepted, that a lot of these will be very dated or old series...but
that’s whats it’s all about.
EG: Forces TV show CHiPS @ Man from Atlantis...
( seems to have got fed up with ‘ Dukes of Hazzard’

OK
Well on Talking Pictures TV Channel 81 there are a double bill of Horror movies from middle evening onwards
Reminiscent of the ones the BBC put on in the middle to late 70s
Cheers.... just get fed up with the usual rubbish.
Saw an interesting documentary on Dick Emery & Buster Keaton recently. sky arts have some variety.
Quite enjoy the motor racing on Freesports.

Some of the higher channels are quite good for random series that were either on the BBC decades ago, or are a bit more recent but were not on terrestrial TV. I've just started watching a series on "Horror" called "The 4400" as it seems like a reasonable thing. It's a bit dated but it's not bad so far. Pick sometimes have some good series too - they're showing the remake of "MacGuyver" and I think it was them that showed "Stan Lee's Lucky Man" which I also enjoyed. There was another thing about some kind of plague that meant if people went to sleep they'd die, but I can't remember what it was called.

But some of them seem to have a very small selection of films - when I scan the EPG daily it can be the same thing over and over again. Except if it's something I want to record but clashes with other stuff, then it'll only be on the once.

Watched a Couple of good documentaries recently...

ITV3 ( I think).
1) Dick Emery.... very interesting

Sky Arts;
2) Buster Keaton... what a guy, no special effects & broke his neck & didn’t even know it.
3) ELO in concert... really good.

Like I said... Forces tv show some really old stuff
( SYKES, & sit - coms, wreck divers etc)

Really weird to see actors... some obviously departed, or looking so young.
( Bernard Cribbins seems to pop up a lot)

Lucky man... that’s with James Nesbitt & his bracelet isn’t it...
If so, I enjoyed that too. ( Hoping for another series).
As with films... it’s nice sometimes to see one pop up that you haven’t seen for a while. ( Tremors, Lake House, Butterfly Effect)

Original Tremors was great... but the sequels were silly... flying farting things.
( But there again... I find ‘Hot Fuzz’ funny).

Tales of the unexpected on Sky Arts this afternoon & evening.... Only 1/2 hrs but rings a bell.

Tempted to the old quiz shows... especially ‘ Bullseye’...
Just to see the big cash & prizes on offer.

Me & my kids still say ‘yarp’ & ‘narp’... gets a bit silly @ the end though.
Tremors ll is just about bearable.

Watched an episode of ‘4400’... got potential.
Season 2, so read synopsis on WIKI to catch up.( think I may get the plot).
Seems Freesports &. forces tv have gone.

I don't think Forces TV is a very strong signal. I can receive it at my house, but not at my parents about 3 miles away and there aren't many hills in Cambridgeshire to block the signal.
