On the market for a car.

My all time fave no.1 would be a 991 or 992 Targa 4S but my ETH isn't going that far yet!

So around the 40/50k mark for now. But i don't know what to go for.

I love the bmw M2 in spec (nimble and overpowered) but it looks designed for a 30's something lad not me.
I don't like the M4 it's just too big i really want a 2 seater or small 4. Love the engine one of my faves for noise.
997.2 C2S Nice but a bit old now
Jag F-type i like but haven't driven yet, again looks quite bulky and perhaps a handful in country lanes, its just that it's a Jag it doesn't quite have the kudos of a German car.

NO NO NO
Dont mention an Audi RS anything im not ever driving a performance estate, a hideous combo.

Help any suggestions welcome thanks!

More interesting than any boring old piece of German crap. Certainly more 'kudos', not difficult as german cars have none anyway.

Might be reading too much into one comment in the opening post about the kudos of a German made car, but is the main aim to show off to the neighbours? Not judging, but what's worth suggesting will change if so.

You don't state whether you want new, nearly new, or used, so:
  • Audi TTRS (coupe)
  • Audi RS3 (small hatch, not a saloon or touring)
  • Toyota Supra (coupe)
  • Porsche Cayman GTS (coupe)
  • Lexus RCF (coupe)
  • Lotus Evora
  • BMW M240i (more grown up than the M2 coupe, available early next year...supposedly)

Okey dokey - apologies for the misread.

A Cayman sounds like an answer. Though I think the F-Type is rather nice looking.

Not a million miles off smile

That Alfa is the firebreathing £100k+ variant, vanilla version is not as aggressive.

Maybe this though?

TTRS - Performance/size yes! But it's a TT.
Audi RS3 Five pot sound OMG but oh no why o why o why don't they do it in 3doors see above i don't want it for kids and shopping. Otherwise i could be very tempted over the TTRS believe it or not.
Toyota Supra - looks even more like Darth Vader and it's hideous what were they thinking? Not a touch on the predecessors. And it's a BMW but ugly.
Cayman - Porsche with Hips dont like them. Prefer a 718T Boxster but no i don't want a softop.
Lexus - No.
Lotus Evora - Argh i used to have an Elise S1 loved it wish i never let go.

Thankyou for your thoughts.

So far i think F-type is best suggestion. Another one would be waiting and stretching to 'a' 991? But i guess im looking at about 60k?

If the RS3 5-door hatch/saloon are no good, how about a tiny RS1 or A1 Quattro (pity it's a 4-pot)?

Don't all Porsches have hips, 911, Boxster, Cayman? The 718 Cayman is effectively a 718 Boxster with a hardtop.

What's wrong with a Lexus sports car - too dull a brand?
