AMG GT-R current values...

Having recently divorced myself from the Porsche fold (dealers attitude / politics, unable to buy any car you might want etc) and promising to wait until the current spike in used values calms down before looking for a replacement.....I'm now finding myself seriously lusting after an AMG GT-R (2017/18 car).
After some digging around I now know what ideal spec I would be looking for (Premium, ceramic brakes, track pack, carbon interior and carbon pack 1 or 2 exterior) but the current values all seem very strong especially with 10-16 months ago. Most low mileage attractive spec cars are up around £120-£125k which from my memory is a good £20k higher than they were.
Appreciate that none of us have a crystal ball but where do we think todays £120k GT-R will be in 12 / 24 months time - level, up or down? I have no issue with some depreciation but slightly anxious at the £20k recent increases being wiped out overnight.
Any other guidance / owners tips on the cars most welcome.

I think they will be the same as any car, they will peak and then start to loose money again but at the usual depreciation curve not loose the £20k gain overnight.
There are two things driving the prices up;
After 18 months stuck inside (some) people have a pot of money and a careless attitude to spend it. Hopefully the economy recovers and doesn't fall flat on its face but with a staff shortage in most sectors and people changing employers for a pay rise I think its here to stay for the next couple of years.
After 18 months of limited new car production and now a computer chip shortage there are very limited new cars around and it's likely to stay that way for a couple of years given current projections. Mercedes USA have announced there will be no more new V8's in the country this year or next, that is driving up new 'stock' car prices and good used car prices. Mercedes UK haven't announced this yet but it is on the horizon with the 4 cylinder hybrid AMG in the works who knows what will power the AMG GT in 2022/2023.
So lots of demand and limited supply puts prices up, at some point they will come down but unless manufacturers have hundreds of thousands of new cars to dump into the market I can't see it crashing.
These are my own opinions so could be complete rubbish.......... This is my hope as I have a nearly new C63S coupe that needs to be worth something in a couple of years.

Here in NL too and even in DLD, in 2019 and early 2020 I looked at prices of the AMG GT R and thought, oh, next year 2021 I can possibly buy 1 that is offered sharply, with another 15-20k off, it comes within reach...
So I thought to wait a little longer, but at the end of 2020 nothing changed, they even seemed a bit more expensive and in 2021 they suddenly became a lot more expensive, also around 20k euros, really not normal, while those cars are still quite young and another 3 years or something would fall into the trap...
So what now? now there will most certainly be another fall of about 40k, but that can take a long time or not, depends on how the world changes (rules of the game)
If you have enough money it shouldn't be a problem, but for others 20-40k is a lot of money to lose like that.
But also the Wiesmann say the MF4 GT in 2012-2013 I could buy it for say from 67k euros, I still have examples here.
Now 7-8 years later, that same MF4 GT (sometimes literally the same) costs twice that, starting at around 129k euros with higher mileage… no fun if it's your bucket list cars that you've been following for many years , waiting for them to get cheaper and within reach... and then they throw in a lot of money on top.

Romans buying guide video was an addictive watch (about 8 times…!). GT3 RS equivalent at a more realistic price point, rarer and the NOISE! Romans did a good walk around / buyers guide video of the GTR and the example they had was a fantastic spec that at the time was up for £110K. It would be about £130K at least now.

I'm thinking about getting one of these GT-R's as well. I actually prefer the older 'interior dials' version over the later 'screens' version.
But I'm not sure prices will fall. I see these models like Mercedes answer to the 911 GT3's, and those GT3's only seem to go up.
The market and consumers will realise how special the GT-R's are eventually.

Very brash and playful when you want it to be as an AMG should be. But also able to do relaxed tourer should the need arise.
My only regret is not seeking out a roadster instead as I miss the top down motoring.

In Germany you see sometimes a yellow one coming up, mostly 20-30k on top, there are now also 2 examples, a roadster and a coupe, sadly the later FL.Solar beam on the other hand is awesome - if you can find one that is. Chap on one of the FB GT forums has been after a solar beam GTR now for 2 years.
Not driven the GTR, for me as I don't track mine the GTR is a little too hardcore as a daily road car, but they are absolutely awesome cars - I describe my GTS as like Mercs version of a TVR. Very brash and playful when you want it to be as an AMG should be. But also able to do relaxed tourer should the need arise.
My only regret is not seeking out a roadster instead as I miss the top down motoring.
I love the first generation more, I like the big alu machined knobs on the console, it also looks more classic which I like.

I find myself lusting after an AMG GT at the moment, probably an S rather than an R as my budget is probably £80K max.
I've got a Cerbera that I've had for almost 10 years now, previously had a couple of other TVR's and am interested to see a couple of former TVR owners have gone down the AMG GT route.
I can't get away from the idea that I'll regret selling the Cerbera. I love it but I feel I'm missing out on the chance to own so many other amazing cars.
Bomb and Zippee, what are your thoughts come out of a TVR to an AMG GT?
