Hi All,

Looking to replace the battery in my 06 E91, current battery is 90Ah which doesn't seem to be widely available, if I went with a higher rated battery, 100Ah for example would I need to get the battery recoded at all or is that only when going with a smaller battery like an 80Ah?

TIA

Not all E91s have IBS, but if you go larger or smaller you need to code it.

If your car has IBS, even if you don't need to code it (swapping like for like) you should register it so that the system knows that a new battery was installed.

Easiest way to tell whether your car has IBS is to look for the little control box fitted to the negative battery terminal.

My 06 plate E91 325i didn't need the new battery to be coded, but then it was built in August 2005!

Hopefully yours won't either - it's cheaper that way.

Try a main dealer, we often find some are cheaper than aftermarket.

Tayna batteries were cheapest delivered for me when I got my M6 battery. You can use FACEBOOK45 for 5% off

Yes, and you don't get stuck with an old battery to dispose of. Having said that, I'm a regular Tayna customer as well.
