My understanding is that BMW are still making them (12 month run) but some markets like the UK and Australia are only buying their initial allocation presumably to keep prices up. THis is sad to see when you see un sold examples sitting in European dealers.

Maybe something to do with being rhd's? BMW are not going to continue to make vehicles that are not 'wanted' by dealers? Doesn't make sense, whereas lhd vehicles in europe can be moved to wherever the car can be sold? After all, they won't be able to sell many rhd cars in europe if there was a surplus?

Possibly, but RHD demand might suggest otherwise as it is BMW in the country that controls what is available for the dealers to sell.
