Hi everyone a few questions please. I think I have decided that I want a V6 Exige next. Has anyone gone from a 981 GT4 to an Exige and what are your thoughts?
My GT4 is a brilliant car but being honest I don’t think it’s “hardcore” enough and I still miss my Elise.

What is the best Exige? There are so many different models I don’t know where to start! They go from about £40ish to £100k! I must admit I like fancy bits.

Fairly flexible on budget would be nice if I could spend less than the value of my GT4 though. A big consideration for me when buying a new car is depreciation I don’t want to lose a fortune. Thanks for any feedback.

Standard answer used to be a nice V6S for 40k or less. However given where prices have gone, I would say 60-65k on a used Sport 410 is probably best 'value' at the moment.

410 best for road, 430 Cup best for track.

I prefer the older one like a 260c S2 cup for track as its lighter and feels more like you're driving it.

Thanks for the reply’s it will be mainly road driving I might do 1/2 trackdays I have been looking at the 410’s would be nice to spend £60k or less but I have seen a nice orange one for £76.

Ideally I’d like a few years old one private sale, in a bright colour. I have looked at the S2 I really wanted one years ago but got my Elise instead I have seen a nice 260. But the S3 is just a change so I’d prefer one of them now.

I think I have watched every video on YouTube about them. Watched GF Williams do a road trip over night to Italy in his. That appeals I didn’t think they were that useable.

I did 5k miles in my V6S (4k of which on one Euro trip,), 8k in my 360 Cup and 9k miles in my 430 Cup. Lots of long distant driving to circuit's round the UK plus Spa, Zandvoort and Nurburgring plus week long road trips round the UK. They are perfectly capable of distance.

I am fully aware of that, thank you. Just saying I don't rate them as much, is that OK with you?

You can say what you want about a car he's not asking about. Its not pertinent to his post though is it.

If I was going for an s2 Exige I would just get a newer s3 Elise cup. I just don’t want one as I have had a vx220 and a 111r so just want a change.

Guessing s3 is a better road car than a s2/ Elise as wwll

Yeah for sure they cover ground a lot easier and poor surfaced roads. They're great cars just not so good on track (too capable IMO) and heavier so increased running costs.

That’s good because it will be a road car 99% of the time. Might not even go on track. Early morning drives and road trips with the mrs will be primarily use I’d of thought
