Thinking like tribute to bosozoku style but still drivable, I want to do more to my stbox thats not just stickers and paint. If a man can drive a sofa down the road I must have some options...

Is there any kind of document that gives the limitations what you can do e.g. exhaust stick out etc? I want people to turn and look in a mix of disgust and awe... except the police smile

Inspo welcome as well.

I'd imagine it's one of those things that is technically illegal even if it's only a small extension and will depend entirely on how keen your local plod are.

Likewise your MOT tester who could probably fail it for a number of reasons if they wanted to.

I'd be tempted to turn a modern car turned into a rat-mobile.

Clean on the inside and well-maintained, but looks like a rusty wreck - and goes like st off a shovel driving

I suppose it could be described as that, but, to me, a sleeper looks standard on the outside - this would look like it's about to fall apart...

It looks like some people have beaten me to it. This is the sort of thing that I mean...

No idea on the exhaust stick out ( apart from BIVA guidance) but you should start by ripping the motor out and powering it with a Wasp Major.

You're a bit late to the party TBH.

Just about everything "outrageous", that would cause people to turn and look with disgust appeared here: http://www.barryboys.co.uk/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=...

But that site closed down in 2019, in part because the outrageously modified car scene pretty much died out.

Giving a modern vehicle the "rat-look"? - Already being done (and in most cases, not by simply applying a faux corrosion/paint damaged wrap)

Giving a modern vehicle the "stance-look"? - Already being done.

Giving a vehicle the Bosozoku look? - It has been done in the UK in the past, but there haven't been many. That's mainly due to the fact that if done properly, they will fall foul of all manner of legislation on sharp edges/protrusions sticking out from the vehicle, and are simply impractical to drive on UK roads.

People into the scene will think they look fantastic.
People not into the scene will think they look s**t.

Very few people in this day and age will be really outraged though.

Mmmm, 28 cylinders and 56 spark plugs which were prone to fouling up, and the motor also had cooling problems. How about the Trossi engine instead? 16 Siamese cylinders and only 8 plugs would be far more practical.

Any modification to the vehicles engine, intake, or exhaust which means it no longer meets the emissions standards that were set when it left the factory would make it illegal under the constructions and use regulations.

It is obviously a wrap when even the plastic parts are "rusty"

I would say you should drive around naked. Being naked in public is not an offence; it is when the purpose is sexual that it becomes an offence.

Read the Construction and Use Regs, Vehicle Lighting Regs, MOT handbook. Any other regs you can find. That’ll make for for a fun evening.

The ones on the website are wraps, but they don't have to be. There's an Insigna near us that has done it. Looks like he used paint stripper eek .
