Guys - another dull one I'm afraid but when I get to a standstill, there is a definite 'beetlesque' noise to my engine. I'm not sure if it happens when I'm moving as the exhausts are too bloody loud!

It sounds vaguely clattery - is my S6 about to go pop? It's covered approx 4,000 on a new engine.

Any help/advice much appreciated!

Almost all SP6 engines sound like a bag of spanners especially on start up. My 1st Tuscan sounded like this for all of its 17,000mls and I never had an engine problem. Sometimes I was terrified that it was about to let go, but all was fine. I recommend just driving the car, if the worst happens it tends to be quick so I am led to believe, so hopefully your noise is just normal Tuscan behaviour.

As long as it doesn't perform like a Beetle I think you'll be ok!!

I know what you mean - I described it to Henley Heritage as suddenly sounding like an old 911...so Beetle will do. The sound is almost like a fan slightly clattering...could be the chain..eek...but I only hear it with the roof off......hmmm.......

I would say normal, mine sounded like a rattle can this morning. So much so it prompted me to stop and check the oil. All okay though just a normal day in the life of Tuscan ownership.

If yours has been rebuilt then you could harly care less at least your not going to pay for the repairs.

Get out and drive more, if you can only hear it when you stop, then sit bliping the throttle that should drown it out

Nothing to worry about, my BMW M Roadster sounded the same. Now its summer we all have the tops off and can hear those characteristic hard tappits the S6 has.
