The Church of England is still homophobic.

Announced today on the BBC news, the Church of Wales will be allowing blessings of same sex marriage but not actually marry anyone of the same sex:

Accordingly the Church of Englands stays stead fast on it's clearly homophobic stance that " Christian understanding and doctrine of marriage as a lifelong union between one man and one woman remains unchanged" Detailed here from the "house of bishops" https://www.churchofengland.org/news-and-media/new...
We're in 2021, should we as a forward thinking inclusive nation accept this clearly homophobic stance by the Church of England, gay bishops and clergy not withstanding. I find it quite strange that such a diminishing establishment are willing to die by their own homophobic Christian sword, what are your thoughts on this clearly backwards stance of modern life and society, Christian or not.
Yes I do think it's homophobic by definition, I know the Christians shall complain, it really is homophobic because surely God loves everyone no matter what gender or no gender they have choosen or were born with and can marry who ever they please under Gods loving all knowing self, love is love man and man woman and woman, woman and man, non binary and non binary and everthing else, obviously there are unlawful reasons etc.

You are not forced to be part of their religious movement. They can do what they want- in the same way I detest them trying to impose their views on others I find it unacceptable for others to force their views on the church.Religionists are unhinged therefore leave them to their beliefs & tell them to keep their noses out of others' business. Live & let live.
Despite being a strong supporter of LGBTQ rights, and also someone who thinks religion is ‘ridiculous’, I am on the side of the Church here.
If that is what they genuinely believe, and what they wish to ‘enforce’, then just leave them to it.
Unlike being gay, religion is a choice in the UK, and no one is forcing anyone to be ‘Church of England’.
Anyone, gay or straight, who doesn’t like what the Church of England are doing, should simply sack them off and choose a different provider of religion, or just stop bothering with it altogether.
I don’t see why anyone would want to persist in being part of a club who clearly doesn’t want them.

They do force their views on us. They have 26 bishops and half a dozen archbishops in the HoL. For example a few years ago the bishop's votes defeated the government's attempt to cap benefits at 26 grand a year. As it stands the lords spiritual are not forcing non acceptance of same sex marriage down anyone’s throats legislatively.
As Biggy notes, and gets trotted out regularly whenever the question of social media censorship pops up, Their House. Their Rules.

Not the same at all. Choosing what you allow people to upload to your site for you to publish is perfectly legal. Not letting someone open an account because they are gay... not so much. The CoE looks a lot more like a multi billion pound business that refuses to serve gays. Any other business or charity would be crucified for it.As Biggy notes, and gets trotted out regularly whenever the question of social media censorship pops up, Their House. Their Rules.
Why are you so focused in on one group and ignoring others? What did the imam at your local mosque say when you asked him to do your gay wedding?
The freedom that lets you get gay married or identify as a teapot should also allow the freedom to be left in peace to your own beliefs and not ne fotrced into acts you find wrong.

Exactly, if I want a party with a spit roast hog and bacon baps I don't go to the local mosque just because they have the space to do it, why? Because I'm not a fThe freedom that lets you get gay married or identify as a teapot should also allow the freedom to be left in peace to your own beliefs and not ne fotrced into acts you find wrong.
king retard that's why.Honestly, the more you see that clart the more you think it's just put out there to wind folk up and stir up controversy.
The Church should indeed be shamed for its outadated views, especially since so many of the clergy are clearly friends of Dorothy, but there are other religions who have ideals which are significantly worse.
