£20 and £50 notes
Discussion
I tried to just exchange some old twenties yesterday for new ones on behalf of my disabled brother, and all they would let me do was pay them into my bank account so I then had to draw the cash back out to give to him. I asked if I could pay them into his account and they said no he would have to come down and do it and as he's wheel chair bound that wasn't an easy option.

I understand they are worried about money laundering but as I paid it in and then drew it straight back out I couldn't see the difference!
There is a difference - there’s now an electronic trail. But probably not a issues with the amount of you are probably on about.
I do think some cash taking shops, restaurants in certain areas have had a bumper few years. Since they said they where getting rid of the old notes.
