Does anyone do this and have they had any experience getting their insurance policy updated to include this? Seems most are not keen and I'm not sure of any alternatives. Thanks

You just need business insurance don't you? Added it to ours last month (online with Admiral) and the cost was negligible and that's with the OH only passing her test in April.

I have heard on the grapevine that it's cheaper to pretend you do deliveries on bikes rather than using your car and get bike insurance instead

Apparently business insurance doesn't cut the mustard. Something to do with hire and reward. Basically you need it.

Bike insurance wouldn't work unfortunately.....I'm looking something to show the 5-0 if they were to pull me over.

There was a case in Bradford recently, yes a kid was advised business but not good enough as it's hire and reward.

He got a fine at court and points was overturned on appeal because he could demonstrate he had been wrongly advised

You will need to advise the insurer that you will use for delivery.

Hire and reward required.

Correct insurance is worth happening. I know a cop who has issued no insurance tickets to takeaway delivery guys who are driving with just standard insurance. Only does it if their driving is crap, or seen driving using their phone etc. Takes a photo of the rear seats with the food and delivery tickets. Quick way to start loosing your licence.
