Evening all.
Thinking about an EV as my next car. Possibly new on lease or used as a purchase.
Would be very useful if it had a towbar capable of towing a small trailer - sailing dinghy weighing less than 500kg.

What smaller EVs can be fitted with a towbar?

I know that the new Skoda eniaq can - but that's nearly £50k.

Cheers

I don't think any of the current small EVs can legally tow in the UK.

Enyak starts at £34k.

Polestar 2 and Model 3 can tow and start new at £40k, as do used Audi E-Trons.

Tow bars? You’re tempting fate.
Whatever you do, don’t mention mudflaps!

There are a few used Model 3 around with tow bars which can tow up to 1000kg. Still not exactly small or cheap though.

As stated above, my Enyaq cost £35k including lots of options (inc. towbar) by the time you include the government grant.

I've only just bought a small trailer, but the car is rated for 1000 Kg.

I don't yet know the impact on range but I think there are a few YouTube videos which cover it, my normal range (not towing) is 230 miles for the Enyaq iv60 in mixed driving.

Thanks Reuben. The £50k was a bit tongue in cheek. I've always bought secondhand cars but almost always top spec. It would be good to get from home to Cornwall on a single charge. 220 miles - I'd be wanting to go for the 80 - hence the potential cost.

Does anyone know of any others that can have a towbar fitted - either new or used cars?

Not tempting fate - just a simple question.
You would think that towing an environmentally sailing dinghy that weighs very little wuld be possible.

The XC40 Recharge PHEV can tow 1800KG, the BEV can tow 1500KG.
