Does your partner belittle your driving skills?

my other half is superb, couldn't ask for a better passenger.

However, she was pretty cross with me in Switzerland in June. whilst she was in my car with me throwing it round some fantastic roads - she was perfectly ok. however, when my friend in the car behind swapped passengers, she got to see me throwing the car from outside the car i got a silent lecture that evening.

I think her conversation with the other driver whilst following me was "I cant see any dust on the road - hold on thats not dust - its TYRE SMOKE!".

Once you are getting along Ok take them out for a spin,,,get it slightly sideways at 3 figure speeds and see if they scream.... If the young lady is fine with that, you have a good basis to build a relationship.

Obviously this is stage 2, because if she has already mentioned the Recaro race seat is a little tight you know you will probably never see her again anyway...Harsh but fair

No never, French TVR was very complimentary when I took him around Brands.

I often drive and he is an excellent passenger.

Anyhow yesterday after ripping a muscle in my neck up and a short trip to the doctors she drives me and its bloody bad! Braking so sharp I nearly headbut the windscreen and we must have missed a parked car by a fag papers width

Until she found out how fast we were going, at which point she would tell me we were both about to die.

It used to be so much fun going, "Ninety... A hundred... A hundred and ten..."

And in answer to your question: No! In fact, quite the opposite. He doesn't have any issues with my style of driving. And vice versa.

P.S. I'm sure your driving is perfectly OK. If it isn't then go get an Advanced Driving qualification. You can then say: "Rospa agrees I'm the best...so shut the up or pass it yourself..."

Ja - he ist better at ironing shirts than I am - but I am better at loading washing machine. We are equal match at chopping onions und stuff in kitchen ...

He ist better at making pastries - short crust und that flaky stuff und I am much better at pulverising bread dough as I pretend this ist Steviebabes und ist so-oh satisfying to puchit around - und I do make a decent stew und Lancashire hot pot as I am very good at stirring things up und he does acknowledged the extra spices in my curries ...

He ist better than I am at hanging wallpaper und curtains (I once tried to fit curtains in littlest room in house only we had not fit the toilet seat at time und I was silly young cat und stood on loo to reach und slipped und foot slid in the little bendy bit und I was stuck... for four hours - und all he could do when he found me was laugh ) But I am better at sewing the curtains in first place und painting.

So - there will be thing you do better than he does or equally well or not quite as well but fairly well - you need to recognise these und be more assured und confident.

As for driving skill - we are even match. Und we just enjoy the drive whoever ist driving.

Und I am sure you are both lovely drivers anyway - but as Don says - perhaps you should just discreetly take an IAM und solve one und for all.
