Hi, I'm looking to buy a car from Dubai using a company called 'direct from Dubai' based in Swindon, anybody had any experience with them? They seem to have a very good range of cars available at good prices.

No experience myself but I have heard that a lot of accident damaged cars in Dubai get exported to the UK as the accident history disappears during the export process. I would be extra careful to ensure you don’t buy a previously written off car.

Not always the case, but the adage ‘if it looks to good to be true, it usually is’ has rarely failed me - though no doubt I’ve missed bargains in the past

I’d only ever consider it for exotica or extremely rare motors, beyond that it’s not really worth the risk imho?

Just out of curiosity I had a look at their site, I have to say, they seem quite over priced for almost everything on there unless I am missing something special about cars that come from Dubai?

Might be because the listed prices are inclusive of VAT and customs duty?

Possibly, but still makes no sense to buy from these at the prices they charge. Look at the below 2 examples of the Grand Vitara

https://www.directfromdubai.com/#/pages/cars/car-d...
£12,691

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202108216...
£7990

Its the same story with all the UK equivalent cars.

Bear in mind as well that gulf spec cars will probably have no/inferior rustproofing compared to those intended for the UK market
