Hi,

I would like to ask some help from the Porsche entousiast community. I'm on the market in UK to buy my first 911 with a budget between around 45k£.
That will be a leasure car for weekend, no track forseen. Looking at the actual market and with this budget, I do believe the best is to look at 997.2.

I have spoted this one (https://www.invictusmotors.co.uk/used-porsche-911-bishop-stortford-hertfordshire-3595474) in Targa but some slight modification been done on the car. I don't know if it is something to avoid or not.

What would you advise generaly for this budget and specificaly for this car ?

I'd advise one that hasn't been quite so extensively mucked about with, you are on the right track, 997.2, NA 3.8. PDK, be patient, a better car will come up, also the Targas have well documented niggly issues, I'd get either a proper convertible or a coupe.

Looks nice to me just check the targa mechanism okay. Maybe a few thousand too expensive for the mileage but its a targa which are rarer. I'd seek out a coupe or if you want open top go full cab. Loved ours. Maybe little quiet. I doubt there's much you can do to get the engine sound more sporty and ours had the PSE. Very cool cars SWMBO just back from a track day in hers. Fast too. Real world barely slower than my own 997 turbo in my experience. Sharper too.
