Are extended warranties worth buying for a modern TV or is the manufacturers 12mth enough and if so which ones are best? Cheers

Extended warranties are rubbish if you don't need them, worth their weight in gold if you do.

It also depends on the price of the warranty vs the price of the TV obviously, also some of the extended warranties like the 10 year screen burn on samsung you have to claim on the website.

Just had the same with a samsung washing machine, just 3 years old it went bang, it's under warranty I thought but no I never ticked a box when I registered it 3 years ago... brilliant.

do Panasonic still do 5 years on Tv's?

I have two of them and both had warranty used at about 4 years. Good service from Panasonic.

There’s enough really good retailers that include 5 years cover as standard. I don’t know why you’d bother shopping elsewhere. Just go to John Lewis or Richer Sounds.

I had an RS warranty pay out on a 4 year old second hand tv which funded much of my current OLED screen.

Costco also provide a 5 year warranty foc if you maintain membership in that period.

Heard that JL’s service has been dropping off over the last few years so I’d favour RS or Costco over them

Add Costco to that list.
Not sure I’d buy from anywhere that doesn’t match those warranties, tbh…
