I’d like to fit rear speakers, any experience welcome regarding a good quality choice would be appreciated! I have a pioneer SPH-10BT head unit and what seem to be standard door speakers. The sound quality is fine but I need more volume when on the move. Thanks

Used Pioneer TS-A6933i oval speakers in mine which fit and work nicely.

Thanks Steve, it’s for a Griff actually, I posted in the Chim area since there seems more activity here! I guess there’s still enough depth between bulkhead and furl tank?

Should be. I'm not aware of any significant difference in the bulkhead height or fuel tank height.

Steve

Edit. If you have doubts draw yourself a CAD template 6" high by 9" long. hold it where you would like to position the speaker on the bulkhead and drill a 1mm hole through the middle, through the carpet and the bulkhead. Leave the drill bit in the hole and take the template round to the boot and see if it clears the tank.

I have 6x9 Rockford Fosgates. I have a decent amo. Between those and the fronts I can listen to music with the roof off at motorway speed.

Mine are set to full range but is could pump sub bass only through them.

Poor photo's and excuse the mess but this may give you some idea where to start popping your little hole through wink

Hi,
I have some original rear speaker spacers available, since I removed my Pioneer sound system.

They are 18cm diameter and 3cm deep, which gives a decent clearance between the rear bulkhead and fuel tank.

PM me if interested.

What's your verdict on the Pioneer SPH-10BT head unit?.
I'm thinking of one for my Griff as well as some rear speakers. Seems to be a good solution for holding the phone
Cheers

Easy to fit and use, holds the phone securely, sounds fine to me given the ambient noise in the car anyway! Gets in the way a little with a phone in when reaching for the boot release, but no big deal. Plus my daughter thinks it looks cool. It has no CD hence a bit shallower than my previous Pioneer and fitted in without having to squash any wires. Happy with it so far, 1 year in.
