Details are sketchy (and it seems all based on claims on social media) but looks like a mugger may have run into the wrong people

I doubt even that will stop knife crime. If the person is genuinely walking around with a machete, I won’t be losing any sleep over it.

The comments are class. Lots of people are losing it because they can't work out if they should be applauding it, or condemning it because it's "Sharia Law"!

Well, without an investigation we don't know what happened, it is all rumour and supposition. Perhaps the handless one was not in fact the aggressor?

To me the really sad thing is that we appear to have a local councillor supporting vigilantism. Seems to think it is Dodge City.

That's true, and it's not just Tower Hamlets. I remember noting that councillors and candidates in my relatively leafy area of London often had the time to serve because they were either retired, wealthy enough not to need work, or self evidently unemployable due to general weirdness. Not sure these are the people you want as elected representatives.

My local one was a sole trader tradesman. Now I know many smart and capable tradesman, but this wasn't one of them. I had a chat with him once and he was clueless, he just happened to be mates with the leader of the local tories and would vote as told...

And Tories were flavour of the month that year so didn't really matter who the actual candidates were.
