The Dell monitor I want is only currently in stock at Amazon Europe (rather than Amazon UK). If I buy it from Europe, am I right in thinking that it will come with a power adaptor that also has the British plug option? Will there be any other complications that I should be aware of?

Ask the seller. Does it not make it clear in the description? Failing that use an adapter.

Most Dell monitors use an IEC C13/C14 (kettle) connector, so it's pretty trivial to just replace the lead.

Depending on the model you're looking at, there's normally an illustration of the connectors on the Dell or Amazon page to show what USB/HDMI/DP connections are available, so it should be trivial to check.

It is highly unlikely that the power cord is permanently fixed to monitor, just get the appropriate cable with a UK plug end fitting.

Will Amazon magically avoid you being charged vat and any import duties? Just make sure you aren’t hit with any unexpected Brexit-related extra charges.

Got to say that's where I thought the thread was going from the title. I'd avoid buying anything not already in the UK unless you really have to.

Most Dell monitors use an external PSU with a C5/C6 Cloverleaf mains plug so you easily pick up a replacement from Amazon/ebay. The VAT is a different issue though.

This particular monitor uses a kettle lead power connection. Can I simply plug in a UK spec kettle lead?

When buying from Amazon Europe, all taxes, import fees are accounted for/listed so there shouldn't be any surprises there.

Yes, just swap the lead
