Hi there,

After a bit of help. My 2009 E61 has had the anti trap warning for a few months now. It flashes on idrive every startup, and the rear passenger window won't work with global open/close.

The window also only opens/closes in 2 inch increments.

So, I Google it and try a whole bevy of reset methods
- clean all the guides with silicone spray: nothing
- hold button for 5 seconds at bottom/top: nothing
- hold button for over 20 seconds: nothing
- hold button for exactly 17 seconds (I can't stress how important the 17 seconds exactly seems to be): nothing
- try in the front, in the back, engine on, engine off: nothing
- do all of the above with the idrive message open: and guess what, nothing.

So, more delving suggests the hall sensors in the motor aren't telling the module where the window is. They are not service items, so I buy and fit a second hand motor for £9

And..... it's exactly the same. Anti trap function fault still present, after trying the resets (ok I haven't gone exhaustively through the list yet)

Question

So e posts referred to using ISTA+to reset something or other. (I have not yet got INPA, but have got inpa working)

Can anyone shed any light on what that might be? Inpa shows the switches, but doesn't really make the car "do" anything...just tells you what's happening.

Thanks

Ian
