Leasing deals on cars seem to have dried up a lot so I'm considering leasing a van, not for work, but for bike track days, can chuck pushbikes in and generally just a handy vehicle to have.

Has anyone here done a private lease on a van and can recommend any companies, or is the usual sites i.e leasing.com, what car etc?

I had a quick look recently and can get a transit custom over 2 years for about 6 grand(below avg mileage) which seems a good way to see how I get on with a van and if I hate it, chuck it back in 2 years time.

At the moment, for trackdays I have to rent a van, and as I haven't got wets/warmers/genny, and the weather in this country is generally ste, I tend to leave booking a day to the last minute to try to get decent weather, and that's a ball ache in itself when renting a van.

Just wondering if anyone else has done this and any recommendations both the van itself and a leasing company?

Looked at the twin cabs for the extra seats but not sure if they can easily come out or not? Would be a SWB...

The price of renting a van seems to have gone up hugely, I used to be able to hire one for the weekend from Hertz for £50/60 now its £150. If you need one regularly seems a good idea.

Cant help re leasing but just bought a Transit Custom Tourneo for the Mrs and pleasantly surprised and more importantly she loves it.

No probs driving, parking, great on the MWay, very quiet. A bit high for some multi storeys but its a good drive and taps along nicely.

Far bigger inside than the vito we hired for a weekend!

Spend £5k on a VW Caddy wheelchair converted car.
5 seats normally - take out the rear double to get the bike in.
Ramp to wheel the bike in.
No van speed limits.
No ticket needed to get into the local tip.
Cheaper to insure than a van.

Can you tell what I use???
