Blank Tacho Shift Light - Bringing it to Life!
Discussion
Been working through the full resto of my 1997 Chimaera and now moved to the interior where I've removed the dash to fix a few things like the heater dials and lights, broken clock, etc, ahead of a full strip out for a carpet and leather retrim. The tacho has been operating fine but when I pulled it out I was a little surprised to see the reason for there being no illumination was that there were no bulbs installed!! Ironically there was a bulb (with unterminated wiring) in the warning light port which I see from the Steve Heath guide is for a rev limiter or shift light.......but apparently was seldom connected up by TVR. I know it's of very limited everyday value to fit a shift light in the tacho but part of me says if it's there then why not at least make it work! So has anyone bothered to install an Omex shift light unit or equiv circuit to make the tacho shift light functional? This is obviously not a substitute for what might be installed for serious track work. Thanks.

I'd just be disappointed by it flashing when I was only two thirds of the way round the tacho
Always thought having it light up when the engine fans were on would be kind of useful
200 RPM short of the limiter more like
