The screen on my F31 330D has been cracked for a while and I got myself a cheap replacement from a breaker. It was pretty easy to swap it all over but the new screen is just displaying 'No signal'.

I read online you can manually reboot it by holding the centre console volume button down, which doesn't seem to do anything. And disconnected the battery in the hope it may reboot, but it hasn't helped so far. I have reconnected the old screen which works fine, so the wiring and connection is all in order.

Does anyone have any other suggestions to try? Or is the replacement screen possibly defective?

I had to do something similar on an E63 and I don't remember having to get the screen recoded - I'm not saying that will be the case for the F31 but it would be worth checking.

Also with mine the first replacement screen I used was cheap from Ebay and failed really soon, so it might just be that the replacement screen you have is already U/S, especially if the old one still functions.

Also keep in mind that the "reboot" button is the volume control button, not the I-Drive wheel; but it has been a long morning and I might not be reading your post correctly
