Hi, never used a car forum before but couldn't find anything online to help me. I am looking at either getting a 2016 66 plate seat leon 290 black or a 2017 17 plate 300 cupra so which one is actually better like in terms of exhaust noise and stuff like that? Both are priced more or less similar just a difference in mileage so are seats reliable at high mileage so the 40-50k range. Secondly what is the difference between the 290 cupra and 290 black? Appreciate any help and feedback.

I’ve got a 290 black edition, not driven a 300 but I doubt the extra power is noticeable.

I’m no expert on the black edition but I think it has unique wheels, heated seats, black mirrors and a few other bits and pieces.

Exhaust noise, 300 wins hands down.
Seats will depend on the owner. But there have been reports of them splitting, some are fixed on warranty some are not.
As mentioned above with the black edition.

I think he was referring to Seat as in the brand as opposed to the seats you sit on. If I'm wrong, I'll await my multi-coloured parrot. smile

I wouldn’t say 40-50k is high mileage. Make sure it’s been serviced on time

I had a 4drive that was on 45,000 miles when I returned it. Had no problems at all, and only had standard servicing.
