Hello

I'm going to be getting rid of my current M2 Competition as I plan to "downgrade" to a 987.2 Cayman, as the current market is a bit crazy for cars and even more crazy for sports car plan to Get my current M2 shifted get a shed to last the winter and maybe a bit longer till prices stabilise and use the time to find the right motor.

in my local area I've found some decent options. (Use Post Code B60 3DX) Don't fancy going miles for a stbox smile

My requirements are simple
Run & Drives
Will last a year.
has a bit of character
Petrol preferable but wouldn't outright say no to a powerful diesel
Not a mini van smile

Would an older S Type with 100k make me a crazy person?

NA Flat 6? I've herd these are fairly "reliable"

Any suggestions or am I just crazy

I've seen a few but I'm unsure how are they like to live with in the winter, are the hard tops something I should be going for?

What about a Honda Civic 1.8i?

£1500 and I'd negotiate a fresh MOT in the price.

No don't get an MX-5, that's a silly suggestion. I think he was pulling your leg

Friday's shed of the week is still for sale, and it's just up the road in Birmingham. It has an MOT until next September and is only £1189, do it!

CLK320 with Xenons as well as Heated & Air Cooled Seats a great buy for stop gap car & it'll easily see you past a year I'd be surprised if you lose much on this that spec is super rare:

Excellent finds ZX10R NIN! The Laguna has been on sale since March according to AT and the MOT history suggests it needs disks all round. The MOT history is OK'ish Could be good bargaining potential for a rare and handsome car. The 320 is a headlamp polish away from looking very handsome and is probably featured somewhere on the 1-5k barge thread biggrin

I ran one through a winter and it was fantastic - put the roof down on a snowy day and enjoy that crispness.

Joking apart, it was fine - RWD wasn't a problem with tyres that had decent tread, even in snow. Heater is ferociously hot. Just don't put a vinyl roof down when it's frozen.

I got a 2005 V6 turbo saab 9-3 aero for £2k in May. Probably overpaid by about £500 but the engine does always put a smile on my face.

It I did it again though I'd probably get an RX8 as they feel a lot more special and stuff probably wouldn't fall off as I drive it as it does with my saab.

I'm kind of enjoying the whole shed thing though, it's refreshing to not care so much when I'm forced off the road by someone in a 4x4 who doesn't want to get it dirty

MR2 Roadster and get used to the mid-engined handling before you get your Cayman. Superb little cars for 2k.

Be careful at this price range. It’s mostly dog that need £500+ spending on them. Take a lot of work to pick up something decent
