Going to be travelling into the office soon again for 2/3 days a week, 50 mile round trip so need a new car.

Will be mainly used for the work commute and ferrying kids around to various places along with a few camping trips where space will be needed.

Wife would like a SUV/Mini SUV type thing with the raised seating position

Must haves -

-Petrol/Automatic gearbox
-Android Auto
-Front and rear parking sensors (ideally camera for reversing)
-Large enough boot for camping equipment

The more gadgets the better really (auto wipers, auto dipping headlights, lane assist, cruise control etc...) although these are not must haves. I really like a nice looking interior, with a smooth ride and as little road noise as possible.

I'm not too worried about the badge.

Budget is £16k although could add an extra 2k if needed

What are my options here?

Thanks

I'd say with your commute a diesel will be fine & probably be better options.

These are reliable & very nice inside (an X3 is behind interior wise) they don't have Android Auto but you can have it Retro fitted, look at the link below:

Or the smaller QX30

Or if it has to be petrol then the the 1.5T Kuga in Titanium X Sport spec is the go to option:

I was going to also suggest a Ford Kuga. Cheap to run, well made and loads of gadgets in Titanium spec.

These Seat Arona 1.0 TSIs seem to fit your requirements nicely

If you need a bit more space, what about the Seat Ateca 1.4 EcoTSI?

Really like the Kuga. Is the diesel 1.5 engine OK?

It's better suited to the 2.0d engine the 1.3d is adequate & in the real world not that much better on fuel.
