What to do with a floppy!
Discussion
Going through the attic, I have loads of old floppy disks, (Windows Vista, 98, 3.1 & Commodore Amiga).
Anyone got any inventive uses?
Does anyone buy the old games on ebay etc? as that would get rid of about half?
Looks like I might be able to sell the computers that still work, I even have the original boxes! there was a lot of rubbish up that attic...
So far I have come up with:
- Gluing five disks together (4 sides and a base) to make a pen holder?
- Framing them as a piece of art, then explaining to the younger family members why I have lots of "Save" icons in a photo frame!
The other alternative is recycling the plastic and metal slide thingy, the disk can then go to electronic waste?
Any other ideas?

Don't ruin them!
There are lots of vintage computing groups on Facebook etc where the floppy disks, particularly the Amiga ones, still have some sort of value. Not much but they will be of use to some people.
They do degrade over time so it's possible they're no longer readable, however some can be reformatted and brought back into use again.
How many are we talking about here?

Great, that is the sort of reply I wanted (I don't like things just going to landfill). I plan to check what is on them first, then trying to sell them and getting artistic with the ones that don't work (I even found some unused floppy disk labels for the artistic bit!!!).There are lots of vintage computing groups on Facebook etc where the floppy disks, particularly the Amiga ones, still have some sort of value. Probably between 100 to 200 disks, a mix of DD (Amiga, and that is not the only time I had a DD friend...
) and HD for the Windows (all 3.5", sadly none of the older 5.25" type, so far...).All have been kept in a dark and dry environment, so hopefully OK.
Could you tell me what Facebook groups might be interested? as I will probably be looking to get rid of an Amiga 1200, Sega Megadrive, both with games, with original boxes (for games and computers), also an Acorn Electron with Amstrad Tape unit (again, both are in original boxes).
No idea of value of these things now; my greatest worry is not covering the postage
, basically this post is my starting point.I would like most of it sorted by spring 2022 (or the garden will dominate my time again and they will be in the house for another year

I like the art idea, if you have enough discs you could cover a wall or do a floor and cover in epoxy.
I like that idea, but not sure there is enough to cover either a floor or a wall.I was thinking of getting a large picture frame, using some tile spacers to evenly space the disks and make a nice bit of art work. There are quite a few colourful disks.
Any ideas welcome

For others try this but it's quite international in audience:

They should also be able to point you towards groups to advertise the Acorn and Megadrive, although to be honest you may as well stick those straight up on Facebook Marketplace and they will be found in search results.
The going rate is about £30-£50 for the megadrive depending on condition etc.
About £200-£300 for the Amiga 1200.
BUT BUT BUT and this is the important bit, it very much depends on what condition they are in and whether they still work properly.
The capacitors on the Amiga and the megadrive degrade over the years and leak which can render them inoperable without a good soldering iron session to replace all the affected capacitors.
