Hello all,

I am approaching 30, I work in an office, I have a land rover kids and a dog.......I need a sub 4k daily so obviously I look at 330ci, 530d, A6, E320 etc. I then browse the forums for some inspiration as I like unusual models, I then was sucked into the world of shedding, the seedy bodges, the uninspired rising up to provide motoring heaven.

After a few days of browsing, I came across this horrendous Gumtree add with minimal information and a couple of outside pictures. Investigation showed that they were not a secret dealer and from a quiet seaside town so I rounded up the gang and drove down.

We pulled down the road and there she was, it doesn't show it massively but it was absolutely filthy inside and out, I'm talking dog, fags, farts, b.o..........I was sold! It had full service history up to 2019 and was serviced by the owner. It needed a cambelt but in my opinion it was cheap and I got 200 quid off to cover it, here's a pic from the same day taking the dog out.

First opinions were it drove so smooth, lovely auto box and had plenty of pull. The interior is absolutely horrendous, in my head I know even a clean would not help it but it's a shed, I'm thinking let's not get attached so it doesn't matter but it has cruise control, a/c and heated windscreens etc.

Monies were exchanged and grinder was given back to the owner for his "fishing trips".

Plans include service, cambelt change, deep clean, no boot carpet so knock something up cheap, use it for shed related activities and maybe a few subtle mods.

Thanks for reading

What a wonderfully dull and inconspicuous motor that is. Excellent shedding.

What variant of Mondeo is that?

Presumably a TDCI Zetec?

I have no idea what kind of money a 2007 (?) Mondeo wagon might be.
May we ask how much it cost you in the shed money territory, please?

Yes it is the incredibly average yet adequate tdci zetec 2.0.

1400 quid which in this market I thought was fair given it's asthetically really good condition and relatively low miles. There are cheaper out there however.

Thank you sir, can see completely why the interior of the car held the Mk4 back lol

Had a day off today so gave the Mondeo some much needed love, also keen eyes will spot that I have a rear boot carpet made from crushed velvet bed linen! It completed it's first job and is booked in for a cambelt and water pump on Friday, in my eyes it would be silly not to do it.
