A car has been parked outside my house for about 4 days now.
It hasn’t moved. It’s on a private plate but is fairly new and in good condition.

“It’s a public road not your private parking space” I hear you cry.
Yes, I know. And cars being parked on the road outside my house don’t bother me per se. It’s just that there’s no logical reason for parking in this spot unless you’re visiting my house.

A near neighbour runs a business from home and has visitor but not for days at a time. The other neighbours are 40-50m away with plenty of parking and space for visitors off the road so no need to park here.

The fact it’s parked there doesn’t bother me, it’s not in my way, it’s not a blight at all. It’s just an odd place to leave a car for several days without moving. I work from home and it’s visible from my office so I’d notice if it went and came back.

So, is there a website I can check the reg to see if it’s been reported stolen rather than call bother 101 with it.

If it's taxed it won't be treated as abandoned.
Just call 101 to see if it's stolen.

are u near an airport?! if it was normal times that's the sort of thing cowboy companies did.

sounds like a nice place to live, plenty of space so I'd be the same as you - curious as to why!

NO. Get with the times, you old so and so.

OP: use your local force's online reporting webpage, please.

It’s an odd one. We’re an hour away from Luton, E Mids and B’ham airports so probably not that.

It’s sufficiently quiet here to be undisturbed but not so quiet as to be unsafe. But we’re a bus ride from the station. Maybe someone from out in the countryside has gone to London for the week and station parking or taxi from said village would cost too much.

I’ve checked and the car tax and MOT are in date.

It could have been stolen and left there to see if a tracker has been fitted.

They will then come and pick the car up after a few days if it hasn't been found by the Police.

So it’s not Airport related, which was my first guess, based on a previous PH post about people parking up in residential areas and calling a taxi to take them and their luggage the last 5 mins to the airport.

Stolen/broken down would be the logical conclusions.

https://isitnicked.com - May be of use.

You need an account, and not sure how often it's updated but it showed all the correct details when I checked my nicked Focus ST reg on there a while ago.
