Quick pic from last night's show in Birmingham.

A very strange evening. The same band I've seen before but with a very different Phil Collins.
It really felt a bit uncomfortable at first with him sat in a chair. After a while though it didn't seem so strange and as the show went on you didn't really notice it.
Great setlist and good sound / lighting. Songs were a good balance between old and less old. Lots of people hate their later stuff, but so much of it when performed live sits perfectly with the much earlier stuff. Yes, songs like Invisible Touch are clearly from the later part of their career, but anything from Duke, Fading Lights, Domino etc sits really well with the likes of The Cinema Show, I know What I Like etc when performed live.
I wasn't so keen on the acoustic set, but was obviously done so the band could all perform more closely. Nic Collins on drums did a fantastic job IMO.
I'd recommend going if you get the chance. Sadly, I think Phil is right when he says this will be the last tour.
Haters will always hate but for me they really are one of the truly great bands.

I agree - great band and very accomplished live. The massive Rome gig is amazing on youtube. But Genesis are not really for me though. I have their early stuff but in general Genesis are a bit too smooth and controlled. I prefer VDGG (also on tour next year and I have tickets) who edge rather closer to breakdown on occasions. But great to see bands on the road again.

Thought it fantastic. Had been really looking forward to it but seeing PC on BBC worried me that it would just be a parody of Genesis. Thought his voice held up really well, considering his age. Good set list, good musicianship. Nothing more to say!
