Working From Home - Missing Social Interaction
Discussion
I work shifts 0700-1900, 1900-0700.
I hated being in the office when the "0900-1700" crowd were in so safe to say working from home I don't miss that, but I do miss the weekend and night social interaction with colleagues.
WFH on nights is boring, the office banter isn't the same on Microsoft Teams.

I am sat in the office right now. I have said good morning to a few colleges and that's about it. I will probably go out for lunch as I cant stand the chat while I try and eat a sandwich.
I did miss the social aspect when working from home but now back in the office I couldn't care about the gossip etc.

No I love it, can't stand work chit chat.
My employer is keen to get people in for our "mental health", they don't seem to consider people like me that actually prefer it.
This is it in a nutshell for me, there are such things as introverts who prefer their own company and do not miss all the many downsides of being in an office - if I never see the office again I would be over the moon, WFH is ace.My employer is keen to get people in for our "mental health", they don't seem to consider people like me that actually prefer it.
I appreciate tho that is not for everyone, this is why I feel it is very important that it should be allowed to be agreed between the employer & the staff member - not just a blanket one-rule-for-all.

Good morning
For those of you working from home due to the pandemic, do you miss the office environment and social interaction?
If so, what do you do in order to resolve this? Have you joined any online groups to social with?
Thanks in advance for your response

I’ve worked from home for years after previously being office/site based. I find that having a speech radio channel on at a low volume makes a big difference - I’m not actually listening to it, but after years of being in an office environment I find the burble in the background strangely comforting!
I used to hate the office, but really miss it now.
Mental health is at an all time low, I think in large part due to lack of interaction.
Maybe I’m a saddo, but everyone I knew was through work or industry contacts. They’re all still working from home or moved away so my social life is also in a bad way.
I’m semi retired and was doing a bit of occasional consulting, but I’m thinking about getting a J-word just for more human interaction. Desperate times call for desperate measures!
