It's a significant spend on something that is 8yrs old. You could be forgiven for thinking what if I buy a Tesla now and plan on keeping it long term as unlike diesel engines it should be evergreen. Then in 7yrs time there's a significant cost issue due to a unforseen design issue and Tesla stick the finger up?
For me EVs should come with 10yr warranties...

The battery warranty on a Tesla Model 3 is 8 years. How long do most manufacturers warranties last on a petrol or diesel car?For me EVs should come with 10yr warranties...
Seems like a freak one off occurrence as this isn’t something I’ve heard of as being a “thing”. Although seems like this website is being alarmist and trying to.
Either way, water damage repair is something you would normally be able to claim on insurance for.

Sorry - that’s not an ‘unforeseen’ design issue. Just piss poor design and testing. For me EVs should come with 10yr warranties...
