OK, here's the question, who do you use for servicing in the Midlands? Factory approved, please, if poss, my car is only 2 and I'd still like that stamp.

I was previously a royalist, but have decided to go republican this time - and Midlands owners will know what I mean here - I'd particularly like to know what you think of TVR Power and Clarks.

As always, please respect Ted's no name and shame, if you have bad stories i'd like to know, but please mail me about them through my profile. Good stories, put 'em here! All help appreciated

I got my last service done at Clarks - no complaints there - I'm planning on going back to them in a couple of months for the next service...

Got a couple of test drives out of them too.

Mark

I’ve used TMS in past, bought my Griff from them. Nothing ever a problem they sorted my warranty claims without question just a bit expensive, but that’s a main dealer for you.

I have used TVR power, and have no complaints. They collected & delivered on a transporter, the car came back all nice and shiney etc etc. Having said that, I have now "defected" to the independent network, and use Adrian Venn at Exactly TVR, also in Coventry. He is very good, and very reasonably priced. Just don't be put off by his location!!

My last bill with Adrain was a full service, MOT, new battery, new front wishbones, setting up the front suspension and a visit to my home too, to get the car out of the garage (hence the new battery) The whole lot was £550 inc vat, which is the cheapest service I have had, and I had a load more done to it.

No complaints with Colin Blower Motorsport in Hinckley, had my Chimaera serviced there since I bought it (used) 3 years ago

I also use Colin Blower Racing at Hinckly, they have looked after my S1 for the last 2 years. A full 25,000 service was £350 and a £6000 is about £150.
Check their website and they advertise in Sprint.

Independent - Adrian Venn in Coventry, great guy and reasonable prices.

TVR Power in Coventry did an excellent warranty repair on my Chim 450.

TMS Melton Mowbray did some good warranty and service work when the car was new after giving up on the Royales whom I bought the car from new.

Clarks (Bromsgrove) - haven't heard anything about them yet.

Independent - Team Proactive (Birmingham) seen some excellent bodywork/painting from them but don't know about servicing.

Independent - Peninsula (Devon) - great guys, hell of a long way but they do a weekend service break if you fancy a weekend in Devon.

My Chim 450 is 15 months old and I have moved to the independents because their prices are lower and the quality of work is generally better as long as you use one with a good reputation.

If you want almost an independent price and a TVR stamp then I would go to TVR Power in Coventry.

John.

Thanks to all for your replies, much appreciated - I think I'm leaning towards TVR Power for this one.

I know you said main dealer, but I found David Geralds in Inkberrow to be excellent. I've also heard good reports from TMS though I've never used them.

DG's are pretty cheap and have always looked after my cars very well

Cheers

Clarke's - Went there for an Open Day with the TVRCC West Mids a few months back. Seemed very good but I haven't actually used them.

TVR Power - Nearly used them a few years ago (they'd just started to offer servicing) but they wanted £60 to collect the car from Warwick! Don't know if this is still the case but I'd certainly consider them in future.

Colin Blower - Went there for an Open Day with the TVRCC West Mids a few months back. As their Service Stamp is factory approved they're definitely worth considering. They do a lot of motor sport preparations and seem genuinely enthusiastic to the marque. Don't think they offer courtesy cars though?

TMS - Always heard good things but a bit too far away. Got my 18" wheels for my Tamora from them as they were much cheaper than the Royals and knew what they were doing!

Having said all that I got my Tamora from the Royals (originally ordered at Yarnolds) and also used them for the 6000 mile service (but is was free as a goodwill gesture).

Let us know what you decide and what you think?

Cheers.... Andrew
