DB9 broken radiator grille surround

Hi Guys,

I have a 2004 db9. Nice looking car, good condition............however..........
Has anyone else had this problem where the radiator grille surround breaks across the middle, breaking away from the slam panel and busting the bonnet stops???
Checked online, very expensive replacement given you have to get the grille as well as the surround.
Any suggestions?

Many thanks for your fantastic photo reply. You put a lot of work into that! A really descriptive reply. My situation is a bit more advanced, more clips are broken. The two central slam panel connections are gone, plus one bonnet stop and the two outer slam panel connections are also gone. The lower bumper connections, also one is gone. In an otherwise lovely car, this is driving me nuts. You mention it is a common problem. DB9........... Has anyone seen a replacement made from aluminium, or similar?? The replacement from Aston is 900 Quidish. I hate to spend that cash and have it repeatitself.

Unfortunately, this is not the sort of car where many aftermarket repair parts are available.

I'm afraid its used or new oem replacement. Try and find a DBS one, it goes straight on a looks better IMO.

Just checked mine - informative post thanks! All good but did hear a strange squeak which i didnt like the sound of - twas of the mechanical variety not animal type! Need to get that looked at :-(

Yes, I see what you mean. The five-bar grille looks much better.
Ordered one. No gin n tonic this month.
