looking after matt paint with ppf

I am soon to acquire a car with magno silver matt paint which has also been fully ppc'd.
How do i maintain this?
How does ppf work? am i maintaining the ppf or the paint iykwim.
As its new to me id like to give it a full amateur detail and then maintenance. Any ideas on bits to buy?
