I currently have a 530e company car that the lease ends in 6 months.
I am looking at changing to a 545e

Anyone here got a 545e? If so is it worth the extra over the 530e

Thanks

It's just a more powerful version of what you have, you need to decide if that is worth the extra money more hp 6 pot vs 4pot, no other difference no more EV range etc..

The 745e appears almost the same cost as a 5 series lease, albeit more BIK tax to pay, but still a lot more car. I am going to test drive one on Monday and probably will place an order then too after originally looking for a 5.

I just took delivery of a 7 series after looking at the 5, the 7 is the bargain car out there at the moment.

Yes it seems to be! Let me ask, did you by any chance go for the non-M Sport pack and Standard Wheelbase? I want to see photos of that spec as seems to be very rare.

Mine will definitely be a SWB, but I can’t decide between M-Sport or non - wife says I’ll look like a chauffeur with the chrome in London (probably true!) - but I do like that more classic look.

I went for the M sport and then spec'd the M sport pro pack on a G11 (SWB) but kept the chrome grilles and rear strip, on the M sport you can have 3 combinations: all chrome/aluminium trim or full gloss black or half and half.

I think the full chrome trim looks good, if you download the 7 brochure there are photos of the spec you're talking about, abet on a G12 but the overall impression is the same.

Nice, sounds perfect - think that’s probably what I’ll go for - M-Sport black side trims but chrome grill and tailgate strip. Think I’ll get the 20” wheels too. I love the full chrome but in London it is so borderline chauffeur G12, I think I could regret it!

Still main point holds that for the OP it is well worth a look. Huge amount more kit as standard than on 5 too. I think my 530e quote was only about £50pcm cheaper than the 745e!

Some cracking deals on 7 series at the moment

However, I just couldn’t go for one because it’s so gopping looking… frown

For me the move to 6 pot would be a big factor, they are much, much nicer engines.

I just had a look on the BMW site, it is a bit challenging.

I went to test drive the 745e on Monday, honestly I thought it really looked great! Ride was very comfy and it was full of toys, but I found the road noise way too much for a car like this. It only had 19s on the demo but was nearly as noisy as our Ford Ranger truck on the dual carriageway! Steering is not perfect either, somehow the whole car felt light and not confidence inspiring. Found the seating position a bit low in the car which suits a sports car but is awkward for manoeuvring a 5m+ vehicle. The 45e engine was very powerful - lovely and smooth, a definite highlight.

The 7 series is clearly not in the league of an S Class - though it is significantly cheaper so not really fair to compare (even though most publications do) - however it’s still a comfy ride with a nice engine, loads of tech and the deals are hard to ignore. Overall for purposes of the thread, I think I prefer the 5 series as just a more balanced overall package, but I personally will be purchasing my new car from a different brand. I think OP you just try the engine and see what you think, but I’d say it would be worth it based on my experience in the 745e which I presume is same as 545e engine wise.

Seriously considering a Mercedes E300e as they are miles cheaper to lease than the BMW.
Never driven one though.

Overall I should get a Tesla but I can’t get on with how the model 3 looks.
