Just picked up my G20 M340i

Love it, but I can't get the bootlid to automatically open. I have the comfort pack with comfort access spec'd and this works fine for the rest of the car. The electric bootlid is spec'd too.

"Smart Opener for bootlid, allows sweeping movement of the foot under bumper for automatic opening and closing of the bootlid, when in 'Park' position (only in combination with the optional Automatic bootlid, not in combination with the optional Towbar)"

Do I need to enable it in options or anything?

Isn’t it an extra on top of the comfort access? My G30 has comfort access but no automatic boot lid operation.

It states the quoted text in my post under comfort pack on the configurator.

I have the electric bootlid option plus comfort access. Strange.

I'll ask the dealer.

Try and single kick rather than waving/sweeping your foot underneath and yes there is a option to enable/disable in the settings menu (where you'll find out if you have it or not.)

I saw a video on FB around auto boot lid not opening once spoilers had been fitted to the cars and all it takes is to move some pins around the boot area, behind some trim, so allow it to happen. This is only for the particular scenario where weight on the lid (ie spoiler) was preventing the boot from rising - not anything to do with the comfort access foot waving thing.

Yeh seems like I don't have the option. Question is, why since it should have been covered by the spec (assuming automatic bootlid is the same thing as electric bootlid)?

You need "comfort access with smart opener" I think BMW have messed around with some features due to the chip shortage

Yeh I wonder if they've missed it off due to shortage. It was definitely in the comfort pack when the car was ordered in May this year. It was due for July delivery, but then got delayed for an issue relating to the cameras once it has left the factory.

And it's still in there now in comfort access within comfort pack.

Noted, but you'd think that would apply to the whole pack, not parts, especially if you're being charged for the whole thing.

Yeah rubbish really they should tell customers when they do this.

The boot smart opener has been removed from the comfort pack on these at the moment. Should show on your final invoice as a deletion.

Thanks, but no it doesn't.

Should it show with a discount, or is Comfort Pack still the same cost despite the deletion?

Have you had a look underneath, as you should be able to see the sensor.

He won't as we've ascertained he doesn't have the feature, several posts ago.

Not sure it's that conclusive, not deleted on their invoice so worth a check either way, no sensor confirms the car does not have it.
