F01 powered tailgate

I've got the powered tailgate on my 730D

However, I can only open it via the fob when the cars unlocked.

Is this something that needs to be coded so that I can open it via the fob when the cars locked, or is it a security thing etc?

On my wife's x3 with a powered tailgate, you need to press the boot open button for a couple of seconds if the car is locked to open.

In my old F10, you needed to press the boot open button for a couples of seconds to release

There should be a ‘ hotel switch ‘ located in the centre armrest which disables the boot.
