Hi this is Mrs Watton, i am confused i am appling for a new job and the pay states £11,000 rising to 12,300 but in brackets pro rata £13,500 rising to 15,100 what is the difference
Thank you, Chan
Pro rata just means in proportion. If it was a part time job they might tell you what they're actually paying you and then what the equivalent full time job would pay?
It means in proportion.
If for example, you was looking at a job that paid £100 per week for the full time position of for example, 10 hours, but the position you are applying for is part time, of say 5 hours a week. You'd get half of the £100, i.e. £50 because you're only working half as many hours.

, I think I get it now! lol I was confused as the job states it's full time, so couldn't understand why the 'pro rata' equation was thrown into the mix!
