Mercedes C350 CDI Barge
Discussion
Spotted this earlier and wondered if anyone has owned similar?
I like the colour and interior but how did you find the drive? Are there any common problem on these?
It gets mentioned in some reviews that the quality/refinement not that great .
I'll only be doing around 8000 a year but, will make sure it gets longer runs.
Quite fancy the V6 diesel for the effortlessness of the drive.

Lovely colour and trim combo!
I've had the diesel 320 in an older C-class and the 350 in an E, CLS and S - just a great engine regardless of what engine bay its slotted into.
Assuming proper service history, nothing specifically to look out for over and above the usual checks.
All mine were 100k miles + and I didn't experience any engine faults during my ownership.
I'd recommend a gearbox oil and filter change, just as preventative maintenance if you are planning on keeping the car for a few years.
You won't be disappointed!
Cheers,
Chris

My experience is similar to that of Chris.
I have an E350 which I bought over 4 years ago as a stopgap. A great car.
Until the last few weeks it has been really reliable but has just thrown up a NOx sensor fault (which I understand is a common fault with them). When I get it fixed I won’t be too upset if I then get another 4 years of fault free motoring out of it.

I've had one, very nice smooth and torque engine. You'll get about 30mpg mixed driving but they do shift when going. I found the interior quite small though and didn't like the foot operated parking brake. The gearbox is a little dim witted when in comfort mode. Also have the wheel alignment checked. You may find that you cant get a wheel within spec so need a camber adjusting bolt.
I’ve a C250 estate of the same shape and I do love it. Extra 60bhp will make it a nice difference and the V6 will defo feel a lot less tractor-like.
Personally I think that’s quite a high price rage for a 2011 though.
Usual w204 faults to look for - corroded brake lines and rear subframe, wiring at the tail lights. Would like to think it’ll be all good at that price but do your checks anyway.

I'd not heard of Wildings (the company linked in the first post) before, despite having driven past it a few times years ago. Good to know that they have a decent reputation.
That'll be one of the places I check in a couple of weeks when the Picanto has gone, and I begin my search for a 350 coupe. It's 2.5 hours from where I live, but there isn't much choice in west Cornwall.
