So I’m watching global citizen live and so far have seen some bands play and publicise the organisation.

I’m yet to hear what these ‘common goals’ and how they actually intend to achieve them.

They just seem to be using phrases such as ‘stop poverty’ ‘save the planet’ and ‘end hunger’

So I took a little dive into their website and they seem to be taking credit for $48 billion of commitments and policy announcements. Yet going through these they all seem to be generic announcements and then they are taking credit for them, or getting people to re-announce existing commitments and adding on ‘global citizen’

Looking into their financials it seems they are an entertainment company first and foremost but acting as a charity. They don’t actually do any charity work, just events. Is this the new way to do what you want and call it a charity? Become a vague campaigning organisation and turn up to key events so your name gets tagged onto things.

It certainly isn't new, even The Eden Project is a registered charity. It's time to regulate charities, as far as I'm concerned.
