Picked this up a few weeks ago from Inchcape as they were advertising it. Though I should have gone through my local dealer if i'd known I could
The 35's only come with premium plus spec now, though there were a few early ones with premium only, these seem to be lingering on AT for quite some time.
Had to get rid of a fully loaded 2019 C63s estate which I loved, so a bit of a downgrade in reality, but I needed 7 seats and didn't want a huge car as the wife would struggle with it.

Unfortunately compared to the 63, it's missing a few options (aswell as a V8) although it is fully optioned UK spec there were a few things that were not available in the UK, so my first task is to depov and get the spec I always wanted.
First up, AMG drive unit. These are the string wheel buttons that let you cycle through the engine modes aswell as other things. I used them alot on my old car.

Next up, HUD. Really liked this feature, but won't be easy to install, I've asked around and can't find anyone to fit it yet.
360 cam. Essential as my wife will be driving this mostly. Unfortunately only a rear cam is fitted but the housing is present in the grill for the front cam.
Just waiting for all the stuff to arrive, ordered from MBhouse.ca

I like these, really funky looking I think, is it smaller than a GLC but has 7 good sized seats? Or are the two in the boot for children only?
Cool engine in it too! Based on the A class?
Aye, M260, 300hp same as an A35. It's got enough for a bit of fun, but could do with a bit more at the top end.Cool engine in it too! Based on the A class?
The space is a massive upgrade, the rear seats are a decent size with plenty of room. Better for kids of course. Three car seats fit across the middle row without much bother, in the 63 when you shut the door it squashed them together, but not in this.
We bought a 220d Premium plus new about a year ago, and agree it’s very thoughtfully designed for family use - the additional rear seats are much better than the cars size may suggest.
We have an AMG or two as well, but never considered the 35, purely as we need one economical vehicle to use regularly, and I wasn’t that keen on the blown 2-litre unit in the A45.
I don’t like the Lane-assist function, which is very keen to interfere, and actually quite unnerving. Ours has the front camera set-up which gives a real-time view of hazards and junctions when the sat nav is in use.
Coming from Land Rover, it’s quality is tangibly better, and it looks great, although unless you disable the traction control etc, it’s poor in the snow.

Aye, I turned off the lane assist as it keeps wanting me to put both hands at ten-to-two when cruising, but I've been using the distronic quite alot. I thought the augmented reality was a bit of a gimmick, but its made a few junctions easier. I haven't installed HUD, but a friend of mine did on his M4. If I have to do it I will, but I'd rather find someone to do it. I'm just a bit short of time a I work out the UK.
Booked in at krown rust proofing in Dudley to get the underside sprayed with rust inhibitor. It's a semi permanent treatment, not like your old fashioned waxoyl, this lubricates and leaves a film that will be good for a couple of years. Also lubricates and stops any squeaks. I do it too all my cars now, only a few hundred quid to get it applied.
Best time to do it when it's new.
