A5 Scamera Van - let's all slow to 40!!

Coming along the A5 towards Shrewsbury this afternoon several cars were flashing and sure enough there was one of West Mercia "Safety" vans parked in a lay-by.
I was in a queue of traffic travelling at about 55 in the 60 NSL when there was brake lights galore ahead as one or two numpties in front braked all of us down to 40mph!! I find it amazing that some people are sufficiently brain dead and/or unaware of the speed limit to do such a thing.
I, of course, gave my customary PPPPAAARRRPPPP as I went past in support of their good work :rolleyes:

Or at least that's what I'll tell the magistrate ....
I find it helps to have a passenger to perform such greetings since reading of a chap who did the same. He was prosecuted for driving without due care and attention as he didn't have both hands on the wheel.

Remember your thread a bit ago which I can't find hence hijack? Sorry about that.
Concerned construction of new parking places for West Mercia Scamps.
Have you seen them using any of the new sites yet?
The ones round our way are all grassed over, and never a vehicle on 'em as far as I can see. Scam signs all up in place though.
Do you reckon these are the sites which are under review/blocked by Govt?
Certainly not listed on their website last time I looked, though that means nothing as they do scam elsewhere in covert mode.

Hi FiF - I think I was referring to the ones on the A49 between Ludlow and Hereford just after left hand bends, unfortunately I haven't been down that way since my post.
However, about 18 months ago they did construct lots of parking pads on the A5 Shrewsbury by-pass, just the right size to run their scam from. These too are grassed over and I've never seen a van parked on them.
