Apparently, a new political party called True & Fair is being launched by Gina Miller: https://www.cityam.com/gina-miller-launches-new-tr...

Superb , she is a bit like a female version of Blair , that simpering smugness, knows what’s best for everyone !!

"True and fair" is the description that company auditor's use in their audit reports to describe the state of the accounts they have just audited and approved. When asked to explain what they mean by "true and fair", they always give hopelessly confusing and inconsistent answers.

I expect that a political party calling itself "True and Fair" would have the same problem.

Sums up my thoughts. Good on her for having a go, but I think she is wasting her time.

I can't argue with her reasons:

"This Government needs to be held to account. Voters deserve better than the current politics of incompetence and self-interest"

I think this is the reality.

I like Gina Miller but I just can't see this gaining traction given the winner takes all nature of our two party system and most peoples inability to even consider voting for anyone that isn't red or blue.

Which is pretty fking sad really.

I personally prefer "presents fairly, in all material respects"

I once got a fantastic letter from the then auditors to a concerned stakeholder, setting out that their audit work gave assurance our accounts weren't materially incorrect.

It was just before that unfortunate bankruptcy business...

Hey ho. Back on topic - when the Liberals struggle to even get remembered, I don't fancy a new party's chances. The funding mechanism will just kill them.

Regional parties based on national devisiveness seem to do ok, but I doubt Gina is going to set parts of England against other parts.

Unfortunately true, and until people start to realise how much of a problem this is nothing will change. I don’t believe both sides are evil or even incompetent (although the current cabinet is trying its best to challenge this), but they are swinging more wildly to the extremes. We currently have a system that doesn’t work. We have a system that assumes that MPs work for their constituents, MPs that assume they work for their parties and voters that think they voted for the PM, not the MP. I don’t really blame voters, but I the one thing I do blame is politicians not realising (or ignoring) who they are supposed to work for first.

"True and Fair" was the campaign she was running trying to ensure good consumer outcomes by threatening to sue. Everyone I think, Including the FCA.

Making the leap into politics somewhat tarnishes that. Totally. Or the fees weren't rolling in and she's going for free advertising.

Either way, nope.

I know Gina Miller. She is a self-promoting rent-a-cause narcissist. Nothing more, nothing less.

Like all her other ventures this will be no more than a vehicle for her personal ambitions and proclivities.

Perhaps she should recruit Tony Blair, to further improve her image.......

Turkeys don't vote for Christmas.

Unions vote down local Labour parties’ call to axe first past the post

I believe her to be a pretty disingenuous person, so perfect for politics.

As a Brexiter, it was quite amusing to see that the more she got involved the more things went against her. Her actions to ensure that Parliament voted on any deal, for purely democratic reasons according to her, directly led to a harder Brexit.

Who does she attempt to sue in that instance then?

Yep, she's what we call in a finance; a "fking idiot".

True and Fair is almost as dumb as Farage's "Fortune and Freedom" bks. She's not even original.

Before anyone gets excited I said "almost". On every level Fragae is worse, except for knowing he's a narcissist.

UKIP, Change UK, Lawrence fox, the BNP all have had ideas and had a few supporters all have made zero inroads to politics oddly UKIP and the BNP have actually had some sucess in the EU and local councils and we will see how fox does (I suspect nothing). The most successful party to challenge the mainstream has been the SNP and in part becuase labour were so bad. We have sadly the torys who want to move left high tax an spend, labour who thus move further left back to the 1970s and the liberal party who undid all the work of the last 35 years
