Are there any decent 4k 32" - 36"+ gaming monitors?
Discussion
They are, but they're not cheap, and some play 'fast & loose' with their claims of HDR (i.e. DisplayHDR 400 with only 350cd/m2)
Gaming on a 48" LG CX OLED is great (from 3-6 feet away). It's only 120hz though, and I couldn't use it for normal work as it's TOO big.
This may offer some insight into the current state of 4K high-refresh gaming monitors...
- Gigabyte FI32U - £900
- Gigabyte M32U - £750
- Asus ROG Swift PG32UQ - £3k
- AOC AGON Pro AG324UX - £900
- Acer XB323QK (Predator XB3) - £900

I've just bought a 48 CX for my TV/Media set up which I've got my PC plugged into. I went from a 24" 144hz gaming monitor to 120hz but haven't noticed much of a difference. How long have you had yours, any issues with burn in?Edited by mmm-five on Tuesday 28th September 09:43
To the OP, depends on the use case of course but with some higher end monitors costing about the same as an OLED tv, I'd recommend looking into that, albeit a bit bigger than what you're looking for. The screen is so much better, most of the time, although they don't come without their own drawbacks.

It's not the main gaming monitor, so it's mostly used as a TV for Netflix/AppleTV+/etc. and it excels in that. It's also got settings specifically to mitigate screen burn - such as dimming persistent bright logos and 'pixel-shifting' to ensure the same pixel is not constantly used.
Don't know how well it works yet (you don't notice it doing it's stuff), but I've not seem any ghosting or after-effects after 8 months.
My current gaming monitor (until I can find an ultrawide or 32" 4K monitor I like) is just a 27" LG Ultragear 27GL850.

It's for a PC and will be on a desktop so a TV is too big really. 42" might fit but I don't think many 4K TVs are available at that size.
Some of the 32" models look good it is a shame they are not g-sync compatible.
I wouldn't worry about G-Sync or Freesync, as most recent monitors will work with either technology...but they'll have paid/been paid to promote one or the other. Some of the 32" models look good it is a shame they are not g-sync compatible.
OP is this any good? Quite a bit cheaper than some of the others so I might be missing something (not clued up on this stuff). However, I have the 28" version of this for my PS4 Pro (and work) and really pleased with it.
It has the Gsync thing (or some such) and my one also has built-in speakers which is handy and quite unusual I think.

Edit: sorry, FreeSync. And this does have speakers too.

Looks good but 60hz just doesn't cut it these days for fast moving games apparently
Of course I don't know about any of this I am just relaying what my son tells me
Got my son a 2k 144hz monitor, the difference between 144hz and 60/75 is very noticeable even on just the Windows gui! So smooth.Of course I don't know about any of this I am just relaying what my son tells me

I hope he's got a machine that has the graphics power to deliver the more than 60fps @ 4k he'll need to take advantage of a 144hz 4k screen!Of course I don't know about any of this I am just relaying what my son tells me

As you say, 4k is simple, 32" is simple, 144hz is simple - but the combination is what's the awkward bit.
It's also why many suggest an ultrawide (such as the Samsung G9) as it's basically 2 x 1440p curved monitors stuck together to enhance gaming immersion.

He just got a 3080 based PC so I hope that is good enough. As you say, 4k is simple, 32" is simple, 144hz is simple - but the combination is what's the awkward bit.

Been running a Samsung Q80T 55" (QLED) 4k as main PC screen since November 2020. Sat at the back of the desk, it's perfectly placed to completely fill vision. Only goes to 120hz though.
It has run 24/7 since setup, either with a PC desktop on, fixed icons and a youtube channel running lower right corner (videos for the cat to watch... ) when not "in use" or input changed for Xbox. No sign of any image retention.

I use my 65” C9 for several hours a day gaming, but it’s not used purely as a monitor so that could be why I’ve not suffered burn in so far. Got 5 year burn in protection policy just in case but I can see why people that have static images running on them all day everyday might experience burn in. If it’s going to be used just as a PC monitor then perhaps QLED might be a better option.
When I was hunting for screen these guys were very good and their review and in depth and technical
