Voip Only Providers

Hey,

Does anyone know of any good VOIP only suppliers?

We have all the hardware and have been with Soho66 for the past 3 years, however on the renewal the prices have gone up about 30% so am planning on having a look around.

Sipgate are my recommended option.

There used to be a lot of love for Voiphone on here until their recent DDOS failure.

Spinning up a VOIP service is easy - you can do it with cheap second hand commodity hardware and free software and a reasonable Internet connection. Doesn't take much to keep it running either, it'll more than likely be fine until someone decides they want to disrupt your service and hold you to ransom. The smaller the provider, the less resistant they will be to DOS attacks in general. It's easy to generate enough traffic to overwhelm a 100Mbps leased line, far harder to being down a provider with hundreds of Gigabits of transit across multiple providers and as they have more to lose they're generally better protected.

Voipfone. It's cheap and just works. They suffered a DDOS attack recently which was the first outage I've experienced since I started using them in 2008.
